Here are the sweet tunes you dug during this weeks show!
Bernard Fanning - Hope & Validation. Great country tune from the Powderfinger singer's solo album, 'Tea & Sympathy'.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Still Suspicion Holds You Tight. One of the stronger tracks from the 'Howl' album, which is a lovely album.
The Kill Devil Hills - Tryin' To Forget About You. From the Perth country/grunge band's album Heathen Songs, this song has a killer fiddle riff.
Todd Hannigan - Thicker Than Water. Nick Drake-esque track from the soundtrack to one of Jack Johnson's surfing films of the same title.
Witchi Tai To - Harpers Bizarre. A song originally written by native American saxophonist, Jim Pepper this song is a rain chant. Arranged and performed by the Californian Harpers Bizarre.
Feature Album for this week, is The Good Life's 'Help Wanted Nights'. This album chronicles the breakup of a relationship where both parties are having extra-marital parties of their own.
Track 2: A Little Bit More, the bloke is waxing lyrical about his mistress, with the help of a great chord progression.
Track 5: You Don't Feel Like Home To Me. This is where they realise the relationship is going to end. Listen out for the powerful vocals at about 4:00.
Track 9: So Let Go. This song is the second last of the album, where the couple are trying to reach closure.
Charlie Parr - 1922 Blues. From the Minnesotian blues/folk musician's album '1922', this is a song for his dad, about living in the 20s in southern USA. Featured on the Vodafone 'folding' ad, in Australia and New Zealand.
My Friend The Chocolate Cake - A Midlife's Tale. From the Melbourne 7-piece acoustic band's self titled album. David Bridie's story telling is preaking.
The Cat Empire - Feeling's Gone. New shit from Melbourne band The Cat Empire. Not as great as their earlier singles, but let's not judge the album before we hear it.
Augie March/Paul Kelly/Missy Higgins - Droving Woman. Three of the most distictive Australian voices do an amazing cover of Kev Carmody's epic country ballad. A very respectful cover of an amazing song.
