The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus were very successful portraying their rock/punk style in their first debut album of Don’t You Fake it. Their second album, Lonely Road, however, showed a very different side of the hugely successful band. Lonely Road mostly ranges within Indie Rock and Alternative and comparing it to Don’t You Fake it would be a very tough choice, considering the two are excellent albums with different styles of songs.
Though diehard fans of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus would not appreciate Lonely Road due to it’s huge difference from the band’s known style of punk rock, I personally think that they’ve actually taken a pretty good risk, and it resulted in some very good songs, that I could call some of my favourites now. Although a pretty weird song not setting a good impression, in my opinion, called ‘You Better Pray’ started the album off, once you’ve had a listen of the whole thing, you’d be rather surprised.
Surprisingly once again, the song ‘Lonely Road’, despite the title, did not impress me, however, ‘Godspeed’ and ‘Represent’ have now become two of my ultimate favourites. I’d rate the Lonely Road 9/10. Overall, the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus definitely struck gold with their new album, and hopefully, they will continue to do so for the sake of their many fans, whom I’ve most certainly just joined!
